Both come from the sap of the rubber tree. Natural Talalay latex is made through an 8-step process that molds and freezes the latex for a soft, airy, responsive feel, and each core is rated for firmness in 9 separate areas. GOLS Certified Organic latex comes from trees grown without synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers and carries the GOLS label certifying at least 95% organic latex. Latexpedic offers both.

Both come from the same place, the sap of the rubber tree. The difference is in how the latex is grown and made. Natural Talalay latex goes through an 8-step process that molds and freezes the latex to create a more consistent, airy structure, giving a softer, more responsive feel. Each Talalay core comes with its own label rated in nine areas for firmness.

GOLS Certified Organic latex comes from rubber trees grown without synthetic pesticides, fertilizers or chemicals, and the entire manufacturing process is certified to organic standards. The Global Organic Latex Standard label certifies a minimum of 95% organic latex inside, and every certified organic core we sell carries it. At Latexpedic you choose either one.

What Does It All Mean? From Rubber Tree to Latexpedic

Whether you buy a Simmons, Sealy, Serta, Spring Air, Tempur-Pedic or Sleep Number, there is essentially nothing natural inside. Most people never think about it. But we breathe on our mattresses more than eight hours a day, about 120 whole days every year, so healthy ingredients matter.

The latex rubber tree, Hevea brasiliensis, is native to the Amazon rainforest of South America and is now grown throughout the tropics. Its milky sap is harvested by tapping the bark, collected, whipped into a froth, and baked into a springy, breathable latex foam core. Latex foam was first invented in 1929, and history suggests a King of England may have been the very first person to sleep on a latex mattress.

Warm in winter, cool in summer. Wool wicks away moisture, keeps its natural elasticity, and is inherently flame-resistant, which is why a Latexpedic never needs chemical fire retardants.

Responsive and buoyant, latex contours to your body for pressure relief while holding your spine in line. It resists sagging, dust mites and mold, and its open-cell structure helps you sleep cooler.

What is inside a Latexpedic latex mattress?

Only three natural materials: latex (Natural Talalay or GOLS certified organic), plus cotton and wool quilting on both sides. There is no polyurethane foam and no chemical fire retardant. A Leggett & Platt pocketed coil option is available on request.

Which model should I choose?

The 10" is our most popular and the best for comfort and support. The 7" is ideal on adjustable and hospital beds and for a firmer, more orthopedic feel. The 12" Ultimate has softer comfort layers on both sides of a 6" core, three zippered chambers and split firmness for couples.

Which firmness is right for me?

Soft for most side sleepers, Regular Firm for most sleepers, Extra Firm for back sleepers, and Ultra Firm for stomach sleepers and therapeutic needs. The best way to know is to try all four in our Burbank or Phoenix showroom.

What if I choose the wrong firmness?

You have 10 days to exchange the model or firmness for $89. Because each mattress is layered inside a zippered cover, the change is easy.

What is the warranty?
